Quinn announces $5.9 million local construction projects investment

NORMAL, Ill. – Governor Pat Quinn announced a $5.9 million investment for construction projects in LaSalle, McLean, Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford Counties.

The projects will be managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Construction projects in the investment include a $1.27 million renovation of Capen Auditorium at Illinois State University in Normal, a $1.8 million improvement of Sterling Avenue in Peoria and an upgrade of Illinois Route 89 in Woodford County.

This funding is part of Gov. Quinn's $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! Program designed to support more than 439,000 jobs over six years.

Illinois Jobs Now! is the largest construction program in Illinois history.
