SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Governor Pat Quinn highlighted flood cleanup during his prayer breakfast Thursday morning.
Two weeks after the severe flooding caused the Governor to declare 48 counties disaster areas, some residents have still been unable to move back into their homes.
At the 51st annual Prayer Breakfast, Quinn urged Illinois to come together and help those flood victims.
"We need today, in Illinois, to gather together as a family and as a community, to help our neighbors get back on their feet and get their homes restored," said Governor Pat Quinn.
Quinn emphasized the importance of shelter and building homes during such challenging times.
The keynote was from the organization Habitat for Humanity.
