PEORIA, Ill. -- The local Susan G. Komen organization is looking to end breast cancer with a final push for its annual race.

Peoria's Komen Race for the Cure is Saturday, May 10th.

Organizers set up at Northwoods Mall encouraging people to sign up for the cause.

Last year the event saw more than 7,000 participants.

They hope to be right on target with that number this year.

"It's the dollars that the participants raise that's really going to impact finding the cure," said "So, yes we want people, and we also want them to become individual fund raisers with the people they know."

75% percent of proceeds will support local community health grants.

The rest will go towards breast cancer research.

There's still time to register.
