PEORIA, Ill. -- The city of Peoria has released an update on the construction of the new Courtyard by Marriott hotel being built in downtown.

The update comes from a report submitted by Dewberry Architects Incorporated and shows how much work was finished on the project at the end of July.

At that time, the new hotel was approximately 25% complete, with a target opening date set in mid June of next year.

The report also anticipates that the prefabricated bridge for the pedestrian overpass will be delivered in mid to late September, and installation of an elevator is expected to follow in early October.

The bridge was considered to be about half way complete.
