COALFIELD, Ill. -- The two I-55 rest stops in Coalfield have now been named in honor of fallen state trooper Kyle Deatherage.

The trooper's family, law enforcers and state lawmakers on Thursday unveiled the markers at the rest stops, on both sides of 55, at milepost 64.

Trooper Deatherage was hit and killed by a semi, while conducting a routine traffic stop on i-55.

He was 32 years old.
