SNAP benefits now open for flood victims

ILLINOIS -- more benefits are being offered to local flood victims, this time, its food.

 

Governor Pat Quinn said the state will be offering food vouchers, the SNAP benefits, in 33 counties.

Local offices of the Department of Human Services will begin taking applications on Monday.

To qualify, you must live in specific areas of the affected counties; and either have damage to your home or business, paid disaster-related expenses that were not reimbursed, or lost income during the floods.

Applications will only be accepted through Friday June 21st,
