PEKIN, Ill. -- While many people have grown weary of all the snow one local resident is putting it to decorative use.

Pekin resident Ray Gale is building a 22 foot snowman in front of his home.

Gale began working on the snowman before Christmas and he spends about an hour and a half on his snow sculpture each day.

However, with spring like temperatures, some might think his work won't last.

"Well a little melting for sure, that ain't no doubt. I hope it stays together, not much you can do but repair it and go on," Gale said.

He says if weather cooperates, he hopes to finish the huge snowman in a couple weeks.
