EAST PEORIA, Ill.-- Winter weather may be causing problems across the country but it isn't all bad.

While the schools were empty on Tuesday, the sledding hills were packed.

J.D. Lee brought his two kids to the hill on Springfield Road in East Peoria.

"Being off work and seeing the kids enjoy themselves that's the best part they've been dying to come sledding and snowboarding,” said Lee.

With so much cold weather Lee says he's glad they are finally able to get out to this hill.

"My grandpa used to take my dad sledding on this hill on a car hood and when I was a kid my dad took me here so it's only right that I take my kids here and see if they can break a leg,” said Lee.

Everyone might be sick of the snow but there's always a brighter side.
