SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- It may not seem like it, but the Illinois State Fair is just one week away.
On Thursday, fair organizers hosted a preview of the upcoming event, and explained the meaning behind this year's theme, Illinois Comes Together."
"It is where Illinois comes together. It's where families come together to enjoy the fair, it is where generations of families have joined together to show livestock. It's where volunteers and business come together with our state agencies are able to reach the people with all the wonderful things we provide throughout the year. It's where carnival rides and hot dogs and lemon shakeups all come together too," said State Fair Manager Amy Bliefnick.
And of course the butter cow will also be making an appearing.
The fair starts in a week, Thursday, August 8th, and runs for 10 days.
