State to pay for lawyers in suit against State Treasurer

ILLINOIS -- The state of Illinois will pay three attorneys to represent Illinois Treasurer Dan Rutherford in a lawsuit filed by a former employee.

Last month, Ed Michalowski filed a suit, saying Rutherford forced him to do campaign work on state time and also sexually harassed him.

Now the state will pay attorneys up to $200 per hour to represent Rutherford in the suit.

Rutherford also spent almost $27,000 of state money on investigations into the allegations
