STREATOR, Ill. – A Streator man is free on bond after a nearly three hour standoff with police last week.

According to the Pantagraph, Jon Collins was “just having a bad day” last Tuesday when he threatened his wife with a gun and then fired into the ceiling of their home.

Livingston County Sheriff Lt. Mike Glowacki said Collins, 51, got into a fight with his wife before firing the shots.

Glowacki said it took hours for officers from multiple agencies to talk him into surrendering.

According to court records, Collins is charged with Aggravated Assault, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Reckless Conduct.

He is free on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear again in court next week.
