Are you a “honkaholic?”
A recent study by Safeco Insurance shows 39 percent of drivers admit to honking at other drivers.
Forty-seven percent say they get honked at, while 58 percent report observing some kind of honking behavior.
Of the respondents, 20 percent say honking makes them angry, while 19 percent report frustration and 18 percent say it stresses them out.
Most drivers who honk at other motorists use a quick couple of taps on the horn. Thirty-eight percent use a longer beep, while only 8 percent say they use the long horn blast.
Safeco recommends drivers practice “friendly and courteous” behavior on the road, accept some of the unavoidable annoyances of driving, and don’t take behaviors like being cut off personally.
