PEORIA, Ill -- Thirty-Thirty Coffee Company in downtown Peoria is already thriving in its first year of business.

"We're just flat-out are really passionate about coffee," says co-owner Daniel Williamson. "That's what we do, that's what we know, and we don't try to throw in any of the other frills. It's just coffee."

The coffee at Thirty-Thirty is as organic as it gets, grown by farmers who overlook their own small fields.

Williamson describes the key to an excellent cup.

"Roasting it properly and making sure that we have the best equipment possible, and caring about the minutia is what makes it taste different," according to Williamson.

"It's very calm, it's laid back, it's got a modern appeal to it, and their coffee is really delicious," says regular customer Kyle Jackson. "And they have great prices as well."

Garry Moore ordered the honey vanilla Chai Tea to compliment his multi-berry smoothie and almond butter pastry

I ordered a raspberry cream cheese pastry to go with my cup of Ethiopia Hachira.

This blend is a pour-over described as a complex, creamy brew of mixed-berries, grapefruit, watermelon and rose.

The best way I can describe it is the perfect cup.

Our bill for three beverages and two pastries was $21.22 plus tip.

After you've ordered you can even buy a bag to brew at home or stick around to see the works of local artists.

Thirty-Thirty even hosts shows for musicians who say they need a venue.

"So we're trying to provide that," says Williamson. Obviously we've got some space for that, which is convenient. It'd be wrong for us to not use it."

Thirty-Thirty Coffee Company is at 734 Main Street in Peoria. They are open from 6 AM to 8 PM Mondays through Thursdays and stay open until 10 PM Fridays and Saturdays. They close at 5 on Sundays.
