Three arrested for sale and distribution of bath salts

GALESBURG, Ill. -- Authorities in Galesburg have arrested three people in connection with an investigation into the sale and distribution of synthetic drug and bath salts.

Donald Brackett, 78, and Richard Groom, 55, of Galesburg and Lisa Moyer, 55, of Kirkwood were arrested after authorities executed search warrants at Main Street Games and Tobacco and two residences in Galesburg.

All three are charged with Unlawful Distribution of Misbranded Substance. Bond is set at $250,000 each. Additional charges are pending.

In addition to the arrests, authorities seized approximately $9000 in cash, bath salts and other synthetic drugs, drug paraphernalia, computer equipment and documents.

The investigation is a joint effort of Galesburg Police Department, Peoria Multi-County Enforcement Group, Illiniois Department of Revenue and United States Postal Inspection Service.
