EAST PEORIA, Ill -- Hundreds of model train enthusiasts converged on Illinois Central College's main campus Sunday.
The Peoria Train Show has been a fixture for local train hobbyists for more than 30 years.
The show is sponsored by the River City Railroad Club and the Illinois Valley Railroad Club.
Parts, models, books and entire kits were available for purchase. And of course, a lot of discussion among the model train community.
Train Show organizer Ron Brown says this is a hobby that can bring generations together.
"I think it's good for kids to be bonding with their father on a model like this. It's just something they can do together and grow with it. You know, start off small with a set and build a layout, pretty soon you've got a whole room full, then of course, then you might have a basement full," said Ron Brown, organizer of the Peoria Train Show.
The next train show will be held at ICC in February.
