PEORIA, Ill -- Police say that a Peoria man's truck was hijacked and later found set on fire Saturday night.

Police responded on a call of a truck being on fire around the 800 block of Vine St.  Around the same time, officers received a call of a car hijacking and the vehicle taken matched the description of the burning truck.

Police spoke to the victims who said that they were leaving a restaurant.  One of the victims thought his wallet had been lost or left at the restaurant, so the driver pulled into an alley on the 1200 block of Spring St. to look for it.  The victim was able to find his wallet between the seat and the door.

Police say that while the door was still open, the victim was approached by an unknown suspect who was armed with a "glock like" handgun.  The suspect ordered the victim to step away from the truck.  Another suspect got into the driver's seat.  The two suspects then drove down the alley and away from the scene.

The victims ran down northeast on Madison in an attempt to find help.  They found a woman who let them use her cell phone to call 911.

Police do not have any suspects in this crime and it is still being investigated.
