BLOOMINGTON-NORMAL, Ill. – Home sales took off in the Twin Cities this April but year-to-date home sales are still down compared to last year.
According to the Bloomington-Normal Association of Realtors, 236 homes were sold last month. Of those, 21 were new construction.
Those numbers show a substantial increase compared to previous months, a sure sign of the end of a very long, cold winter.
So far this year, 628 homes have sold in the Twin Cities. That is down almost 14-percent compared to 2013.
The average price of homes sold also decreased, dropping by 10-percent to $156,014.
