INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Two people were arrested Wednesday in Indianapolis after reportedly confessing to fatally shooting Oakley Mitchell, 74, and scattering his body in an attempt to hide the crime.

According to WRTV in Indianapolis, Vishawn Mills, 24, and her boyfriend, Rayshawn Lamar Johnson, 23, were arrested by police after a tip from Vishawn Mills' mother.

Vishawn Mills was the caregiver of Oakley Mitchell, 74, of Secor, Ill.

According to Indianapolis Police, a dispute been Mills and Mitchell led to Mitchell being fatally shot and his body scattered.

The pair went to Indianapolis by bus and reportedly confessed to Mills' mother, who notified police, who then took them into custody.

For authorities in central Illinois, this crime has been a collaborative effort between several agencies.

"The investigation has rapidly played itself out and I think that's because of the cooperation on everyone's part," said Tim Ruestman, Woodford County Coroner.

"You read about these types of crimes or you might see these types of crimes on television, but to actually see that one has happened here in Central Illinois is actually unique to all of us," said Beth Kimmerling, McLean County Coroner.

The two suspects were returned to central Illinois Wednesday night. Authorities plan a news conference for Thursday morning in Eureka.
