PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria police make two arrests in a homicide investigation in Peoria's East Bluff.

Police said Adam Windle, 23, and Jay Conway, 21, are in custody following detective interviews.

Windle is being held on a charge of murder, while county police said information about the charges against Conway are not being released.

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll said the victim is Dylan Propst, 22. She says his last known address is 601 SW Adams, which is the Peoria Rescue Mission.

Ingersoll said his parents confirmed his identity and police believe his death occurred sometime Tuesday night.

An autopsy on Thursday indicates that Propst died as a result of multiple stab wounds and blunt force injuries to his head and chest.

Authorities carried out loads of bags and boxes from the vacant home of what is believed to be evidence Wednesday night.

They filled three cars with items.

Ingersoll said the victim was found inside a crawl space, stabbed to death.

Police said someone told them about the possible crime, which led officers to discover the body.

Neighbor Tom Hirstein said it is scary living so close.

"There were some fellas I guess from the police department walking around knocking on doors trying to find out if anybody heard it," he said. "But I never did hear anything so I can't really say what happened in there, you know what I mean."

Other concerned neighbors stood outside to watch as investigators videotaped the scene so they can answer the question, what happened.

An autopsy will be performed Thursday.

Meanwhile, police said interviews continue and more are forthcoming.
