LITCHFIELD, Ill. -- A wrongful death suit has been filed for the wife of a state trooper who was killed at the end of last year.
According to the Belleville News-Democrat, the suit was filed on Wednesday on behalf of Sarah Deatherage.
Her husband, Trooper Kyle Deatherage, was killed on November 26.
He was performing a traffic stop on I-55 near Litchfield when he was hit by a tractor-trailer.
The suit was filed against the trucking company and the truck's driver.
The trucking company has not commented.
