HANNA CITY, Ill. -- A local park spent the day showing off some of its newest improvements to members.
On Sunday, Wildlife Prairie Park held its member appreciation day.
Members were able to check out some of the newly opened exhibits including the "Kim St. John Butterfly Habitat" and the "Birds of Prey Aviary."
Sunday was also the unveiling of the new CEFCU Pavilion which replaced an older structure that previously stood at the location.
Executive Director Doug Dillow said the improvements are part of a new commitment to the park since its return to private ownership.
"Putting a fresh look on the facilities, upgrading them to current conditions as well as planning to the future of what do we really want the park to be for the next generation of families and how can we improve our educational, recreational, and conservation programs," Dillow said.
Dillow said the park generated an operating surplus for the last fiscal year, which ended in June.
