PEORIA, Ill. -- One woman and six juveniles were hospitalized following a roll over accident Friday afternoon.
Illinois state police say 32 year old Barbara McNair was traveling northbound on Illinois route 6 near War Memorial Drive when she reached into the back seat of her mini-van to fix a seatbelt for one of her six children.
That's when she lost control of her vehicle and stuck a mile marker post.
The mini-van rolled at least twice and a 3-year old child was ejected.
McNair and all of the children were taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
McNair was issued one citation for improper lane usage-- and four citations for failure to secure a child in a child restraint system.
Traffic was backed up on route 6 in both directions while crews cleared the scene.
