Wrong way driver causes head on collision on I-90

CHICAGO -- Illinois State Police are investigating a head-on crash on Interstate 90 that left several injured Wednesday morning.

ISU Police District Chicago troopers were called to I-90, northbound at Division Avenue just after 4:15 a.m.

Authorities said 25-year-old Vanessa M. Castillo, who was driving the wrong direction, hit two vehicles before finally colliding head-on with another car.

One driver was transported to Northwestern Hospital and remains in serious condition. Another driver was taken to Advocate Hospital.

Castillo has been charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving the Wrong Way and Operating a Vehicle Without a Driver's License.

ISU Police said Castillo will remain in custody until she is released from the hospital and posts bond.
