PEORIA, IL-- Candlelight Inn is, and always has been, owned and operated by a member of the Prescott family. After Bob and Jan Prescott handed over operations to their son Matthew, he expanded the restaurant's location as well as customer base.

Customer Janet Jenkins visited the restaurant with friends and co-workers. She ordered the Kickin' Beef Bites and Chef Salad, and raved about the bites. "It reminds me of being in Asia as far as the Teriyaki taste, and being in Europe with the cheese." She adds, "it all works beautifully."

Larry Foulk and Joe Bennett also kicked things off with an order the beef bites. The perfect little snacks are far more tender than they look. Bennett also enjoyed the Ultimate Combo. It's the Candlelight Inn's signature chicken, plus a 10-ounce, slow-cooked prime rib. Both were extraordinarily tender with a nice flavor that did not require condiments. He also orderd sweet potato fries- something he gets wherever they are available.

Foulk had the Barbecue Baby Back Ribs, which are slow-cooked and come with a sweet sauce. He said it was good, but he couldn't help wanting some more of the those addictive little beef bites.

The Candlelight Inn boasts desserts made by a local woman, and there are a variety of choices. Bennett had the chocolate cake, Foulk had the cheese cake, and to make lunch more laid-back, they added wine and beer to their meals.

For an appetizer, a glass of beer, a glass of wine, two entrees, two desserts and one cup of coffee, the total came to $86.79, plus tip.

General Manager Doug Akers says, "We strive to serve only the best product."
