This week on You Gotta Eat Joe Bennett takes you to a family pizza place.
He said Larry's Driftwood Pizza has the right variety of toppings and games to add excitement to eating out.
Larry's Driftwood Pizza on Route 24 in Creve Coeur has more to offer than the exterior would suggest.
"We get a lot of family groups in here. We can accommodate all kinds of people. We've got another room in back that can hold 100 people," said manager Autumn Beoletto.
During the day, there are games for families. On weekend nights, the bar and banquet tables are packed with pizza lovers.
"We do make our own crust here. It's really thin and crispy, and that's what everybody does say they like," said Beoletto.
"I don't think I've had another one like it, with the the thin crust the way it is and stuff, I really like it. My whole family comes here," said Judith Poe.
Larry Foulk, no relation to the owner, and I each ordered a medium pizza, ten inches of thin crust just as good as the natives say it is.
Larry had a simple Canadian Bacon topping, which borders on perfect. I tried the Supreme with small shreds of black olive, peppers, and ground sausage, which does add a unique flare.
The pizza came out so quickly that we had time to kill in the game room. Larry, being an apparent pinball wizard, got seven free games out of fifty cents. Our bill with two drinks came to $27.60 plus tip and quarters for the games.
Larry's Driftwood Pizza is at 661 South Main street in Creve Coeur. They open 11 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. and stay open later on weekends. They are closed on Mondays.
