The future of a downtown Peoria entertainment complex is up in the air.

News 25 has learned that InPlay is facing financial challenges.

As result the investor group is not guaranteeing the use of its banquet rooms for parties and receptions this year.

Danielle Duhs had booked a banquet room at InPlay for June. Duhs received a copy of this letter from InPlay officials stating that deposits will not be refunded even if InPlay lets her out of her agreement.

In letters sent to Duhs and another woman, Jessica Foster, InPlay officials say "due to an ongoing discussion with our financial institution and investor group, we are unable to guarantee the availability of the facility into the New Year."

The letter further states InPlay/Forte has yet to reach a conclusion on these issues.

InPlay opened in March, 2003.

News 25 tried to contact InPlay investors Lee Hoffman and Jim Grube, but they have not returned our phone calls.
