Caterpillar Logistics is growing.
The wholly owned subsidiary of Cat plans to open a new parts distribution center in Waco, Texas.
Company officials say the new facility marks the beginning of a multi-year expansion and enhancement of the Caterpillar service parts distribution network throughout North America.
Currently most parts are routed locally through a single global entry point in Morton.
The company says the addition of the Waco facility will help get parts off the shelf and to dealers faster.
Groundbreaking is set for the second quarter.
