Caterpillar has declared a quarterly cash dividend of thirty-six cents per share on its common stock.

That's a six-cent, or 20-percent-increase in the dividend. This is the third consecutive year that Caterpillar has increased its dividend by at least 20 percent.

CAT stock prices closed up a $1.85 at $79.93.
