MORTON, Ill.-- Cat Logistics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar, Inc., has announced the addition of a new parts distribution center in California.

The distribution center, set to go up in the Tejon Ranch Commerce Center in Central California, will have access to major airports and highways, which Caterpillar says is definitely an upside.

"This investment...demonstrates our deep commitment to Caterpillar customers," said Steve Larson, vice president of Caterpillar, Inc and chairman and president of Cat Logistics.  "We are ensuring that our service parts distribution systems serves customer needs better than any competitor, now and in the future."

The 40,000-square foot distribution center will employ anywhere from 100 to 150 people when it becomes operational in late 2012.
