PEORIA, Ill.-- The global leader in construction and mining equipment has entered into an agreement with Denmark-based company to manufacture wind turbines.

Caterpillar announced Monday that its new 10-year partnership with Vestas Wind Systems will allow for cost-competitive re-manufacturing services between the companies, while simultaneously reducing the impact on the environment.

"Our tradition of quality and continuous improvement will serve Vestas customers well," said Greg Folley, Caterpillar vice president with responsibility for the Re-manufacturing and Components Division.  "This agreement is also an example of Caterpillar's focus on sustainable development; by applying our technology and innovation to other products, we use our resources more efficiently, have less impact on the environment, and support our customers at the same time."

Phil Jones, Vestas' president of Spare Parts & Repair division believes the companies' goal to create high-quality products in the most sustainable way possible will result in customer satisfaction.
