Caterpillar says it is expanding its market-leading line of mini excavators.

The company announced the addition of three new models, which broaden the appeal of the line and extends choices for industry sectors.

The new addition to the micro market is the Cat 300.9D, which is hailed as the smallest machine in the Cat range.  Coming in at just 2,061 pounds, the model is small enough to fit through a standard doorway and is expected to be used widely among home-builders, rental companies, and demolition contractors.

Cat's 301.4C model expands choices in the popular 1.5 ton market.  Fitting into the line-up below the current 301.8C, the model is available with choice of cap or FOPS/TOPS canopy and with a standard or extending width undercarriage.

The Cat 302.7D CR joins the compact radius line as one of the lightest models.  Caterpillar says the 302.7D is perfect for rental companies or contractors because it is easy to transport.  Of the model's defining features is a load sensing hydraulic system and joystick for fine movement of powered attachments.
