Following a career of more than 39 years, Caterpillar Vice President Gary Stroup has announced his intent to retire.
Stroup, 62, has served as vice president since 1992 and holds responsibility in the Large Power Systems Division.
"Gary's transformational leadership has been critical to the success and profitability of our engine business," said Gerard Vittecoq, Caterpillar Group President with responsibility for Energy and Power Systems. "His talent, expertise, passion, ane professionalism as a leader during his career have been matched by his focus on customers and developing people within Caterpillar."
Stroup has previously had responsibilities in Solar Turbines Incorporated, Component Products Division, Mining & Construction Equipment Division, and has also served as general manager of the Hauling Units and Motor Grader Business Unit.
Caterpillar says a new vice president will be named toward the end the year.
