PEORIA, Ill -- Caterpillar announced Monday that they have contacted four companies to help the Company study possibilities for an updated corporate headquarters in downtown Peoria.

The selected companies are:

  • Gensler; a design and agriculture firm
  • Turner Corporation; a construction management firm
  • Farnsworth Group; an engineering and architecture firm
  • Environ; a technical and scientific consultancy firm

"We are in the very early stages of assessing the possibilities, but this is one of the significant and necessary first steps in assembling the right people and services that are required the undertake a study of this magnitude," said Chris Glynn, program manager for the headquarters study team.

"In order to fully assess the possibilities for such a project, there are a number of variables to consider including the overall design of a modern headquarters facility; mechanical, electrical and structural considerations as well as costs and timing,"  Glynn continued.  "These firms are well-equipped to help us do that."

Caterpillar recently announced that it is launching a study to determine the options for establishing a headquarters downtown that is more suited to the Company's long-term future.  Over the next several months, the Caterpillar study team will be defining the facilities, technological and organizational needs for the Company.
