Caterpillar to cut jobs in Belgium

PEORIA, Ill. -- Caterpillar announced it plans to cut jobs in Belgium.

In a news release Big Yellow announced it will cut 1400 jobs at a plant near Charleroi in Belgium.
   
A company spokesman says Caterpillar announced a new industrial plan which if approved will result in the loss of the jobs.
    
That facility produces hydraulic excavators, loading vehicles and engine parts.
     
With 3700 employees, the site is one of Caterpillar's largest facilities in Europe.
