PEORIA, Ill. -- Dozer Park, the recently renamed Peoria Chiefs baseball stadium, got a new addition Wednesday.

Crews brought in a Caterpillar D6 tractor, which will remain on display on the concourse behind first base for the rest of the season.

The dozer is donated by a member of the Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club.

Rocky Vonachen, the Peoria Chiefs President, says a different piece of Cat equipment will be on display each year.

"I think having the equipment here and seeing the logo of the ballpark, it starts tying everything together," said Vonachen. "You know, we've got a little bit of yellow and black around the ballpark. So, it's tying it all together, and I think once fans get down here, they'll understand it."

Thursday, crews plan to bring in another bulldozer to display behind third base, just in time for this Friday's renaming ceremony.
