CHAMPAIGN -- It's still up in the air as to who will take the 13th Congressional District seat.
As of Tuesday evening, the votes were too close to call, and according to a release, there are still outstanding ballots from 9 precincts waiting to be counted.
Premature results show Rodney Davis took the lead by a 1 percent lead, but David Gill's campaign is urging election officials to keep counting.
"From what we now know from our discussions with county clerks’ offices, there are a significant number of ballots still outstanding in Macon County. We believe we need to keep counting ballots," said David Gill’s campaign manager Sherry Greenberg.
Rodney Davis simply stated his commitment to his constituents.
"I reiterate to the people of the 13th District that the only pledge I make is the one I make to them," said Davis. "I pledge that I will work on your behalf to represent your interests. Members of Congress must remember that they are elected to serve the people."
