WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The long campaign trail has finally come to an end as NBC News reports that President Barack Obama has claimed victory.
In a tight race, Obama was able to win reelection after winning Ohio from challenger Governor Mitt Romney.
As it currently stands, Obama has 273 electoral votes to Romney's 203.
Obama captured 57 percent of the popular vote in Illinois, with Romney gaining 41 percent of the vote.
