Research shows that one in three women will be abused (sexually, physically or emotionally) in her lifetime.

That is one billion women worldwide.

In an effort to bring awareness to that staggering number, the organization “One Billion Rising” is calling on men and women to stand up and say “this has to stop”.

Last year, the organization encouraged one billion people to shake the earth through dance to end violence against women and girls.

And they are doing it again this year.

You can join with the Center for Prevention of Abuse and one billion people around the world by taking a moment this Valentine’s Day, February 14, to “Dance Against Violence”.

To register as part of the one billion, visit www.onebillionrising.org and sign up. You can also post your dancing pictures on facebook and tag the Center For Prevention of Abuse.
