DANVERS, Mass. --Police in Essex County, Massachusetts have arrested a 14-year-old boy and plan to charge him with the murder of a high school teacher.

Initially Danvers Police were investigating a missing person's report after the 14-year-old male did not return home from Danvers High School Tuesday afternoon.

Late Tuesday night, Danvers Police received another report that a teacher from the school, Colleen Ritzer, 24, was missing.

Police searched the school and discovered blood in a bathroom. They found Ritzer’s body in woods near the school. Her cause of death unknown, but it is being investigated as a homicide.

Just after midnight, police found the 14 year old walking along a road and took him into custody.

"We have no reason to believe there are any other suspects involved,” said Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett. “The juvenile suspect is expected to be arraigned today in Salem Juvenile court on the charge of murder."

All public schools in the city are closed today.

The suspect's name was not released because of his age. Police gave no motive for the murder.
