Bradley University suffers another loss...
A 21–year–old engineering student from Pontiac has died.
His friend, Brandon Gish is charged in connection with his death.
Police say Robert Hurt was struck and killed last night by a car, after accidentally being pushed into traffic.

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll say Robert Hurt was pronounced dead at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center around 12–30 Sunday morning.

Bradley University student Aaron Cummings said, "He was a fellow student of mine that I knew. I didn't know him personally but he was an acquaintance and it is sad and tragic."

Friends of Hurt say he Brandon Gish and two other people were on their way to a party Saturday night on North University Street, when Gish and Hurt started playing around.
Witnesses say the horseplay ended up with Gish accidentally shoving Hurt into the Street.

Bradley Student Nicole Budde said, "You hear car accidents all the time on University; I actually didn't think twice about it until I heard someone call 9–1–1."

A vehicle traveling South Bound on University and Russell struck and killed Hurt, right in front of Nicole Budde's home.

Bradley Student Nicole Budde said, "It was very grotesque scene I just tried to help out the best way I could whether it be to hid his face or help him I didn't know what to do."

Aaron Cummings said, "Something like this makes anybody think I just feel for all the families and for everybody involved."

For Budde there are two victims in this tragedy Hurt and Gish.

Nicole Budde said, "I think that's unfortunate that his friend is going through this sorrowful time and will have to possibly pay the price for some thing that was not his fault just a matter of time and place.
That car could just as easily not have been there as it was there."

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says Robert Hurt sustained multiple injuries. He was pronounced dead and an hour and half after he was hit.

Brandon Gish is being held at Peoria County Jail. His bond hearing is for scheduled tomorrow. Gish is charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and was cited for illegal possession or consumption of alcohol.
