It was the talk of the town this morning and it hopes to get the town talking. Story-Corps is coming to Peoria.

Organizers made a presentation of the nonprofit group at the Civic Center.

Story-Corps travels around recording conversations between ordinary Americans. It can then become part of an oral history archive located in the Library of Congress.

Peoria has been on Story-Corps' waiting list for two years.

Eliza Bettinger is a coordinator at Story-Corps and she feels it is a great way to record the voices of our country.

Bettinger said, "No matter who you are or what your background is, you have people that you care about, and you probably have someone whose voice you'd like to record for the future."

The StoryCorps mobile will be in Peoria September 25 through October 18.
