Judge Holds Self in Contempt of Court and Issues Himself Fine for Cell Phone Mishap in Court

A Michigan judge made it be known that even he isn't exempt from the rules of his courtroom.

According to a report from the Ionia Sentinel-Standard, a Michigan judge cited himself for contempt of court and fined himself $25 after his cell phone caused a disturbance during a court hearing last Friday.

The phone started emitting noise as a prosecutor was giving a closing argument during a jury trial last Friday., according to the Sentinel-Standard report.
