PEORIA, Ill. -- News 25 has been following the journey of Ronda Guyton's battle with breast cancer these past two months.

Thursday, she goes in for her surgery.

But before her surgery, in honor of her 40th birthday, Ronda wanted forty of her friends to have a mammogram, making sure they were healthy.

Wednesday, Ronda held that Mammogram-A-Thon with friends stopping by the Methodist Mobile Mammography Van parked at Landmark in Peoria.

One of those who attended was her Grandmother .

"I commend her for taking it on TV and letting the city know what's going on. Brining it tot the attention of those who have never had it done. And some who procrastinated like I did and hadn't had it done since 09. I think it is realIy important," says Bertha Henderson, Ronda's Grandmother.

Also remember to do your self breast exams on the 25th of every month.

We wish Ronda Guyton a successful surgery and speedy recovery.
