Aclaimed Author Philip Farmer Dead At 91

Peoria science–fiction author Philip Jose Farmer has died at the age of 91.

A message on his website said Farmer died in his sleep this morning.

Farmer won awards for his writing beginning in 1953, and he continued to collect awards for the next fifty years.

His best known books –"The Riverworld series" was made into a TV–movie.

He was famed for both his imagination and playfulness.

Another collection of his work is to be published later this year.

Farmer is survived by his wife, Bette, his children, grandchildren and great–grandchildren....and many, many fans.

Memorial arrangements have not been announced.
