Pontiac Man Dies In Car Accident During "Stay Alive on the I's"

July 15, 2010 Updated Jun 18, 2009 at 1:24 PM CDT

On Friday night, 49-year-old Leslie Goswick from Pontiac died when he lost control of his vehicle along Interstate 55 north of Dwight. His funeral arrangements are pending in Pontiac.
The Illinois State Police and IDOT recorded 14 deaths during last year's Memorial Day weekend which is why they are continuing their initiative of "Stay Alive on the I's" tomorrow from 10 in the morning until 8 in the evening. The initiative began on Friday and means Illinois State troopers are placed every 10 miles along all interstate corridors. There will be a zero-tolerance approach to drivers who speed, drive while intoxicated, or fail to buckle up.
