Peoria police are investigating the death of a 17-year-old female. The Peoria County Coroner identified the teen Sunday night as Jordan Frase, who was a junior at Peoria Central High School.

Police were called to this house on the 3000 block of North Knoxville around 1:15 Sunday afternoon. The Peoria County Coroner says the teen was found dead in the basement of the home, which is not her residence. But, the cause of her death is not known.

"Very suspicious circumstances. We're unsure at this point. We're still investigating as we're just on the scene. That's all we have at this point," Officer Doug Burgess with the Peoria Police Department said.

Authorities report that Jordan's mom last spoke to her late Saturday night. She came to the house to pick up Jordan Sunday when the teen was discovered in the basement.

Authorities say two teenage boys were also at the home and had known Jordan for the last couple of years.

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

Police say anyone with information is urged to call Crimestoppers at 673-9000.

This is the second straight weekend where a Peoria teenager has died. Derome Brown, 16, was shot and killed while walking home last weekend from a friend's house.
