You wouldn't know it by this weekend's mild weather, but cooler conditions are on the way.

And that's why your support of Coats for Kids is so important.
This morning, Ann Doerzaph and her son Eric dropped off two big bags of new coats at our station. They noticed a coat sale at a local store and decided to pick up more than a dozen coats to help area children stay warm this winter.

WEEK, the Salvation Army and Children's Hospital of Illinois are working together on this project. You can drop off new or gently used coats at our studio... 2907 Springfield Road in East Peoria.

Coats can be dropped off at: OSF Medical offices and Outpatient Centers in the tri-county area; all area Pizza Hut locations; Jim Maloof Realty offices; American Family Insurance outlets; the Century 21 Lakeview Realty office in Eureka; WEEK-TV; and, Northwoods Mall. A special collection will also be held Friday, November 27th at the Peoria Rivermen hockey game.

Coats will be collected until December 1st.
