The Heartland Partnership is starting a new regional campaign.

You might remember last year slogan... "It's Better Here."

Well today marks the start of the "I'm Stepping Up Campaign."

Campaign organizers say Peorians will soon notice blue boxes throughout the area.

Residents are encouraged to step up on the box, and take a picture of themselves or record a video explaining how they are helping the region move forward.

CEO of The Heartland Partnership, Jim McConoughey, says everyday people do things to help their neighbors and community and it's important now more than ever to celebrate it.

CEO of The Heartland Partnership, Jim McConoughey, says, "We're really trying hard to get people motivated to move forward in this recession. It's sorta like we've been focused on the recession for so long this is sort of the pre-boom...and we've got to get people thinking about summer and getting back to work having fun and really doing the stuff that happens when we're thriving."

Another initiative working with the new campaign is "Project Pack the Place."

Businesses and Organization throughout Central Illinois will be encouraged to step up and by blocks of tickets to certain events for employees or volunteers.

Organizers say it will not only showcase many entertainment options in the area, but it will also boost the regional economy.
