BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- New life on the side of the road. It's something seen in movies, but for one Minonk couple it quickly became a reality when their baby girl was born on interstate 39.
The drive to the hospital got a little dicey for the Bradbury's Wednesday night.
Amanda's husband, Kyle, made a frantic call to 911 when she said her baby girl wasn't going to wait anymore.
On I-39 Kyle pulled over at exit 2, just 15 minutes away from the OSF St. Joseph Medical center.
Hudson EMT was there within minutes and went straight to work delivering little Breleigh.
"You were on the phone with the 911 operator before they got there, and he had one hand on the phone and one hand on her head, because she was coming out," said mother Amanda Bradbury. "And as soon as Hudson got there, about two or three more pushes and she was out, in the front seat of the van."
Despite the roadside theatrics, mother and child are doing well.
The Bradbury's are spending their first night at home with their new addition.
