PEORIA, Ill. -- Your mobile internet signal may be a little stronger if you live in Peoria.

Communications company AT&T has announced the activation of two new mobile cell towers near the intersection of W Northmoor Road and N Allen Road, and at Illinois Central College North Campus, near W Glen Avenue and University Street.

The cell sites are one part of AT&T’s ongoing effort to boost high speed internet in the area.

"This is great news for Peoria," said State Sen. Dave Koehler (D-Peoria).  "Our residents, students, and businesses need access to mobile Internet in today's Internet economy. More broadband means more jobs, economic opportunity and staying connected to family and friends."
